@Arguments about expansiveness: Bullshit. Yes, you need a -50 cesta. But you can get one for free by doing the quest, which isn't too hard considering it's a lvl 8-10 area and you're level 20, and have heroes. Still, if you have problems completing it, I suggest dropping the 55 idea and play 600 instead. As for runes, during Prophecies, each of them costed 20K+ each, and starting to 55 could be quite an investment. But now that they're not even worth 1K anymore, it is quite pathetic to use that as an argument. And the 600 needs equipment too (weapon, runes, insignias). And no 55 doesn't have "far more expansive armor". You can buy the same armor a 600 would, as long as you put runes in it.
@Lifesteal: More bullshit. Yes, it goes through Protective Spirit. But guess what? There's this thing they called "adaptation" which is like, the reason why the human species survived, or so I have heard. "Adaptation" as in, when there's a problem you find a solution, you know? Bone Pits in UW is full of Life Steal and enchantment removal. Did that prevent me from clearing it with 55? Yes. I said goodbye to UW and never attempted it again.
NOT. I just thought "hey, i'll just use constant SB." And before that, I thought "hey, i'll just make my hp a little higher." You know?
In fact, most of what Asha Rai said is BS. If 600 "needs 3 skills to survive", then so does 55 (PS + HB + SoA). Both need Balt's Spirit and will take Blessed Aura. Now you could say "but the Smiter can take that". That is right. However, 600 requires a lot more energy (Spirit Bond = 10 mana and runs out very quickly), so they will take Essence Bond, whereas 55 doesn't need it. Against a large amount of foes, both builds will do good on energy with Balts Only. However, against smaller groups, 600 would run out and 55 could drop either Breeze or SoA (Breeze will last 22-23s anyways), or even just heal himself with Protective Spirit only. "The biggest advantage of 600 is that you can't mess up aggro"? Are you serious? Are you just trying to find arguments to put 55 down? Like I said earlier, 600 is zombie, brainless farming. You just press 3 buttons at intervals, you don't even have to look at the screen. A player with a minimal amount of skill and knowledge of the game will know how to position foes so that SS damages the whole mob.
There are counters to degen, just like there are counters to life steal or enchantment removal. And CoF is definately doable as 55 HP, but it was popularized as a 600 area because people like to be fed builds and not think of things themselves, and it turns out that 600 is the perfect build for that.
|
I agree with you on this as I would say 600 are those who can't 55.I would go 600 only in a couple of places CoF comes to mind.My Monk isn't set up for 600 only 55,105 or 135.
The -50 cesta is easy to get get friend if you are from another campaign or just do the quest when you get to The Ruins of Surmia mission like I do if you don't have enough char slots and have PvP slot use it to get it.

A 600 health tank (usually monk) with spellbreaker - arcane echo - spirit bond - protective spirit - shield of absorption - essence bond - balthazar's spirit - blessed aura.
And a smiter (to deal double damage from Holy damage to undead) equipped with vital blessing - holy wrath - retribution - life attunement - blessed signet - and some other skills, usually Blood is Power or Blood ritual for the tank.

Need Help 600/Smite CoF
OK so here it goes. I Just created a monk for Cof running and farming. Im using Ogden as my smiter. My problem is that the enchants wont hold. For example I'll order him to cast retribution on me and as soon as he cast it, it goes away. Am i doing something wrong? I have all the skills, Att. points, runes and I gave him a kepkhet's Refuge.

Disable the enchantments that you wish Ogden to maintain (shift+click) and force cast it on yourself once they are disabled (make sure your char is highlighted and then click the skills.) He won't drop the enchants then.

Yep those silly heros like to turn off maintained enchants just as soon as they are cast, it is very annoying

I *think* the Shadow Form Assassin is.
Shadow Form -- Glyph of Elemental Power -- Sliver Armour -- Shock -- Aftershock -- Death's Charge -- Dash -- Shadow of Haste.
I do think Shock and Aftershock along with GoEP are Proph-only though...
P.S: This solo farms bosses in huge mobs.

Can't say i've heard of Glyph of Elemental Power, so it's probably Proph, idk about aftershock either.
*sighs* i really need proph, so i can make a 55.

Depends what you're farming. Melee only (like the two mobs of jade brotherhood axe blokes outside the marketplace) is fairly easy with
[skill]critical defenses[/skill][skill]shadow refuge[/skill][skill]blinding powder[/skill][skill]golden phoenix strike[/skill][skill]death blossom[/skill][skill]moebius strike[/skill][skill]critical strike[/skill][skill]way of perfection[/skill]
Or at least, that's what I use. The blinding powder is only really necessary in HM, since 75% block just isn't enough there. For me, at least.

the main part of the build is the skill sliver armor, everything else is just extra damage. also the more enemies attacking you, the more effective it is. might work better on hard mode too since the enemies attack faster.
try this and see if it works for you (it should actually be superior to the standard a/e build). it uses factions and core only skills, and includes cracked armor condition which increases damage output significantly and also fuels iron palm.
15 shadow arts
12 earth magic
6 air magic
1. glyph of elemental power - 5e
2. shadow form - 10e
3. deaths charge - 5e
4. lightning orb - 15e (if you own GWEN, use shell shock instead)
5. sliver armor - 10e
6. iron palm - 5e
7. aftershock - 10e
8. dash - 5e
id recommend at least 50 energy to run this build. can be accomplished with all radiant insignias and attunement runes (except for the superior shadow arts rune)
another alternative is to remove iron palm and aftershock and replace with obsidian flame, and spam that.

From what I've read I really like the 600/smite.
I'm currently making a monk to try these out. I'm getting nightfall sometime this Friday and usually like to farm by myself or with a rl friend.
Wouldn't the 600/smite be ideal for this? I mean it would allow me to farm by myself since I could just get a hero to go smite. Could i do the same with 55/SS?

Do you want a running build or a HFFF build?
Since FFF takes more then one person, is why I ask.
PvXwiki has some I believe. I'll try and dig up some links.
Here's just a generic running build that you could use in an FFF team.

Here's the HFFF build. Assuming you want Kurzick, that is.

Well, I have no idea what you mean by the damage build, but here's the link to the Luxon FFF team build.
Ha, that wasn't the link to the Luxon one. Sorry, I don't read gud sometimes.

A normal Luxon FFF Build consists of 1 Runner and some Eles ( Damage Dealer ).
Maybe there are Necros instead of Eles and now I´m looking for a build, which serves the purpose of the the Eles.
I hope you understand me now

Could this perhaps be what you're looking for?
http://www.pvxwiki.com/wiki/Build:Te...l_Faction_Farm
It matches the description pretty well.
Hope that helps!
